Selections : Day-1-Kitchen

Once the tiles were done we sped to an Aircon appointment with Ultra Air which finished fairly quickly. At the end of it we had upgraded to the ESP Plus module with 5 zones and a Wi-Fi based controller which cost us approx $5k.

We had no time for lunch and had to do with  Hungry Jacks drive through burgers.  It is good that W had decided to move all selections to its head office from 2018. We wished it could have happened  during ours.

Kitchen and bathrooms were the feature  of the house for me .Hence it was vital for us to get everything look good. Kitchen appointments were with Timpelle  kitchens who were open only during week days. We had done a quick 10 minute walk before hand and picked a few samples of Laminex and Caesorstone. I recommend doing your research before hand with the combinations. At least have a model kitchen in mind which would help you select things quickly.Else the choice available can be overwhelming and you may end up in utter confusion like I did . ( I expected some help and guidance to be given with our  colour choices, but there was not much) . Also in my wish-list is a software which could show you a preview of how your kitchen would come together with all the cabinetry colours and Caesorstone that you have selected.Hope someone is listening.

We started off the kitchen selections with the layout of the kitchen and the consultant did the drawings as we kept moving to different sections . With the range-hood I would have preferred an integrated one as opposed to the free standing as the cleaning hassle with the integrated one would be very less. However owing to the extra costs we decided to stick to the standard free standing range-hood. Also we decided to get rid of the door for the butlers pantry . Instead we choose to do a door for the shelves that would be opposite to the bench.

I chose a two tone kitchen with the base being White and the top to be  a Laminex Natural Walnut. For the wet areas we chose all the cabinetry to be Laminex Nocturne Oak.

With the Caesorstone since we had a L shaped Isle we went with Ocean Foam and Feature Island the Urban ( we dint have much of a choice with the standard range).

Our kitchen would look more closer to the Wisdom Homes Ambassador ,but with a L shaped Isle.
