Week 24-26 Stairs, Doors and First Coat Paint

The stairs had been delivered and installed at the beginning of Week 24. That meant the carpentry work both upstairs and downstairs could progress.

We skipped visits to the house as things were slowing down . We had been informed that the doors , door frames  etc were being worked at.

We had most of our carpentry fit-out completed, external lockup and the painters came in to complete the first coat on all the walls. When we went on our weekend visit everything was locked up and we were happy to see the front door in place. Thanks to the big windows we could peep in to have a look at the kitchen and have a gaze that the bench-tops were in place.

We got a call from the supervisor stating the tile consignment was delayed as some of the tiles (bathroom) had been discontinued. Di-Lorenzo never bothered contacting us till the nick of time for re-selection. It cost us 5-7 days of delay.

We visited Di Lorenzo again for re-selection. It was almost a year since the selection and everything had washed of our mind. Thankfully we had an organised folder of images to refer to. That reminds me I need to update my other post on Tile selections with the re-selected lot.

Come Week 26 and we had to schedule a meeting with the SS during the week to get a walk-through of the house. Counter -tops ,vanities and sinks had been installed. The doors had been painted. The first coat of paint was in progress so everything was covered. Tiling was supposed to happen in Week 27 . I also thought that the electrical fit outs should be in soon.We could not take very good pictures but managed to take a few .

The major relief for us was that despite an ovecast sky our house had plenty of light and looked bright from the inside.(the outcome which we always hoped for)
