Week 8-12 Bricks

Week 7 was more of the long weekend with the Queen’s birthday coming in. The bricks had been delivered however there was no work started till week 8. We had neighbors across the road who were like a pair of eyes to us . They mentioned to us about brick laying not getting started .

Meanwhile we had an inspection lined up post the frames. There were 2 major issues that turned up that needed addressing

  1. Bottom plate to rear garage wall overhangs slab by over 30mm. This is outside of the Australian Standards allowance and must be rectified.
  2. In general all walls and frames required straightening which would be done prior to the lining and verified again by the inspectors.

Point number 1 needed addressing and the SS agreed to get it rectified at the earliest.

Week 8 had begun and the brickwork finally catapulted.

Towards Week 10 we saw the scaffolding go up for the upper level of bricks to be done.

I am a bit concerned about the cleanliness and the splashes around the windows at this stage. However the SS has consoled us saying all will be taken care of during cleaning.
