Builder Selection and Admin Process

After booking our block of land we had some wait period till it got registered with the Council. This was the time for most people like us to do the builder hunt. Like most families who build a new nest in Sydney do, we were up for numerous round of display home visits. We had made up our mind that we would build a double storey. In our quest for the right builder and design, we visited Marsden Park, Kellyville(most of the display homes are old) , Oran Park and Willowdale. Finally, we settled for 3 big names and paid initial tokens (as we were not sure of whom we would proceed with).

We asked one of the builders to do our site report and prepare a tender for us. However after hearing some negative feedback from a few in our circle we had to back out. It was then that we finally settled for Wisdom homes (one of the most prestigious builders in Sydney). Our CSR was a gem. She had an eye for detail and had the patience to answer all our queries in great detail. She put us at ease with a lot of things, during the admin process.

We initially loved the Inspiration and Aspiration designs of W.However they did not fit our lot width and we did not want to downsize the garage a great deal.

Finally one evening as my hubby was browsing through the designs he hit upon Majestic. The design had whatever we asked for . It fitted our lot and also fulfilled the requirement of having a bedroom downstairs for parents and elderly guests who may not find it comfortable to climb up the stairs often. It was Majestic 35 for us.We had a tender walk-through equivalent to  a plan walk through session of most builders.

The build was like a minute project . We sat with the draft  plans and tender multiple times. We asked for minor modifications that were reflected in the plan and tender .

Though Majestic35 was our selection , my favourite display home is the Aspiration31 at Willowdale. Though its a bit of travel for us llllllllllllllllllove going back to it.
